Once again the PTO is offering Schwan's as a fundraising convenience for our parents. The information was sent home with report cards on Friday. If you missed the packet of information, just log on to www.schwansfundraising.com and go to the Start Shopping section on the left side of the screen. Please enter our school campaign ID #1004356. You can send this information to friends and family around the country, wherever Schwan's delivers. All they need to do is put in our school code for the school to receive credit. The campaign runs from November 2-19. We appreciate your support!

This week is the National Middle School Conference, here in Houston. Our teachers will be attending the conference on Friday, for our staff development day. This is an exciting opportunity for us, since it is rare to be able to attend a national level conference in your own backyard!

Additionally, FJH was chosen as a school site visit for our national conference attendees. On Thursday morning, we will have approximately 25 visitors from all the U.S. coming to see the amazing experiences happening here at our school. Student Council members will be escorts for the visitation and our Chamber Choir and Symphonic Band will be providing a musical interlude for our guests. Our PTO is graciously providing lunch for our visitors.

FJH has also been chosen for an exciting new project during the conference. Mrs. Wilkes will be taking a group of students to the conference each day and they will write a newsletter from a student perspective. This is the first time the national association has tried this and they have placed their faith in just the teacher and kids!
