Our advisory program is off to a great start this year! We start each day with your child reporting to his/her advisory teacher. During this time we make our morning announcements and work on various activities. For example, one day each week is set aside to discuss character education, one day is for Capturing Kids' Hearts, one day is for Silent Reading, etc. Ask your child about this part of his/her day.

Additionally, each team will be focusing on a different culture throughout the year. For example, our Mavericks team has kicked off the school year by researching and teaching the rest of the school about our Native American culture. Next month, our Cowboys team will be spotlighting Eastern European cultures.

There is a special workshop that might interest you concerning teens and drug issues. The workshop is entitled Teens and Prescription Drugs: Recent Trends on the Emerging Drug Threat and will be presented on Friday, September 28, from 9 am - 4 pm at the Gilruth Center, NASA Johnson Space Center.
