Dear Parents,
Thank you for a wonderful turn-out to our Open House. One thing we can always count on in Friendswood is terrific parental support! Please make sure that you follow the drop-off and pick-up procedures outlined in the Student Handbook, as they are there for the safety of your child. Dropping off and picking up students in the teacher parking lots puts your child in a dangerous situation. As teachers are arriving and leaving, having excess traffic in the parking lot places not only your child, but our staff members in jeopardy. We appreciate your dropping off and picking up your child in the horseshoe drive located at the snack bar or on Spreading Oaks. WEEK IN REVIEW
Our first CLEAR meeting for students was held
this morning before school. The information
regarding the CLEAR program was part of our
back-to-school packet you received during
registration. CLEAR stands for Clean Living
Encouragement and Responsibility and
encourages students to pledge to a drug-free
lifestyle. At this time we have over 250
students signed up to be part of our program.
If you have any questions about CLEAR,

UPCOMING EVENTS
The Chess Club will have its first meeting of
the year this Thursday morning at 7:30 in the
school library. If you have any questions
regarding the chess club, please e-mail the
sponsor, Suzanne
Humble-Davies.
Math Counts will have its first meeting of the year next Tuesday afternoon, September 11, from 3:45 until 4:45 in PB 6. Please direct your questions to our sponsor, Lisa Ivey. Deadline for schedule change requests is Friday, September 7th. Please e-mail your child's counselor if you have a scheduling concern. 7th grade: Lisa Cudd and 8th grade: Jennifer Reed. Our first volleyball scrimmage will be this Thursday, from 4:30 - 7, at Fairmont Junior High. All teams will be participating. Our first football games will begin next Tuesday and Wednesday. Please consult the website for additional information.
