Dear Parents,

 

I hope this letter finds everyone rested and ready for the new school year.  Summer is winding down and I want to remind you of important dates and information for the upcoming year.

 

Subscribe to Weekly Principal E-Mail Communications:

Just click on the link on the FJH website to subscribe to the weekly e-mail communiquŽ.  Send us your childÕs name, your name, and your e-mail address and we will add you to the mailing list.  Updates are sent each Wednesday throughout the school year.

 

Mustang Camp:

All incoming 7th grade students are invited to attend Mustang Camp.  Just e-mail Darlene Hemmi at dhemmi@fisdk12.net or call her at 281-482-7818 if you have not yet registered for a camp time.  Mustang Camp acquaints the students with school procedures, layout, lockers, etc.

 

Packet Pick-Up:

All students need to pick-up verification sheets and packets from August 6 Ð 10, 8 A.M. until 4 P.M.  The packets contain your back-to school information that needs to be filled out before coming to pick up your schedule.

 

Schedule Pick-Up/Fee Payment:

8th Grade Ð Monday, August 13th, 12 Ð 6 P.M.

7th Grade Ð Tuesday, August 14th, 12 Ð 6 P.M.

All students will return paperwork, pay fees, collect their textbooks, and receive their schedules on this day.  Also, your prepaid PTO supplies will be available for pick up.  There will be a limited number of extra PTO supply packets for you to purchase, should you so desire.

 

First Day of School:

Monday, August 27th Ð our school day begins at 8:30 and ends at 3:45 P.M.  Please refer to the drop-off/pick-up procedures below.

 

Drop-Off/Pick-Up Procedures:

Students should be dropped off and picked up in the horseshoe drive by the snack bar.  You may also drop off and pick up your child on Spreading Oaks.  Please note that due to safety concerns, it is prohibited to drop off or pick up students in the teacher parking lots located on Laurel Drive and Woodlawn Drive.  Please review the attached school map for further details.

 

Open House:

Thursday, September 13th, 6:30 P.M. Ð 8:00 P.M.  Also that evening, there will be a PTO meeting in the school cafeteria from 6:00 P.M. Ð 6:30 P.M.

 

Progress Reports/Report Cards

Sent home according to the following dates:                           1st 9 wks:                PR Ð 9/28; RC Ð 11/2

Nine-Week Tests:

Students will take comprehensive nine-week exams in each of their core classes at the end of the 1st and 3rd nine weeks.  The 2nd nine-weeks exam will consist of a mid-term and the 4th nine-weeks will be their final exam covering the entire school year.
