Take Effective Action Against Bullying
Education.com, a Web destination for parents of school-aged children, and the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) have launched a Special Edition on Bullying at School and Online. This resource provides new information and tools to help parents take an active role in addressing bullying. In creating the Special Edition, Education.com and AASA worked with contributors from around the world to compile new evidence-based, peer-reviewed content to dispel common myths and empower parents and their children to take effective action against bullying. The result is a collection of more than 30 original reference articles, plus video clips, quizzes, online workshops, community forums and quick-fact lists-all available free of charge on the Web site. CHARACTER EDUCATION AT FJH

Character Education has been an important program in Friendswood schools for many years. In 1987, community representatives cooperatively identified a group of character traits, or values, which are held in common by all members of the Friendswood community. Character Education.

The Board of Education directed that those values be emphasized in FISD schools and integrated into the instructional program whenever appropriate.

Emphasizing these character traits should provide the following results for students: raise self-esteem, promote self-discipline and responsible behavior, improve decision-making and problem-solving skills, and instill positive attitudes and values.
