DUAL CREDIT

A dual credit course is a college course that a student may take to earn both college hours and high school credit. Students must complete the THEA, a THEA equivalent, or be exempt from THEA based on TAKS, SAT, or ACT scores. Friendswood High School has cooperative agreements with Alvin Community College, San Jacinto Community College, and College of the Mainland. College of the Mainland does offer courses on the Friendswood High School campus during the school day for College Algebra, College Government, College Economics, College Psychology, and College Sociology. These courses may be signed up for through the counseling office. Fees for textbooks and tuition do apply but vary for each institution. Questions about dual credit may be directed toward any high school counselor (281) 482-3413.
