Final Project – Web Mastering
Spring 2009
You are
going to create a personal website with details about you, your family and
friends, school and your hobbies and goals. You will demonstrate your knowledge
of web design using Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash and Photoshop.
Your website
will consist of 6 pages, each of which will have the exact same layout. If you
have a different idea for any of these pages, you will need to submit the idea
for approval. Here is the required way to name pages:
Home –
index.htm
Family – family.htm
Friends – friends.htm
School or Hobbies – school.htm or hobbies.htm
Goals – goals.htm
Projects – projects.htm
In addition
you will need to collect photos of you, your family, friends, hobbies, etc. that
you want to use on this website. Please bring photos on a CD or USB drive. You will also be required to create 2 PHOTO
ALBUMS using the photo album feature in Dreamweaver.
You can use
the Fireworks method, template or a freeform website to develop your site.
What goes on your pages?
Home Page
You should
have enough information to fill in the first page of your website. Some
contents to consider are: Vital Statistics, Favorite Activities, Places you
visited, Fun Facts, and an overview of what to expect from your website. You
should put at least one photo on this page of yourself, or you with a group.
Family Page
This page
should contain 3-5 sentences about each member of your family. Yes, you can
include your pets as part of your family. You should have a picture of each
family member next to the paragraph about them.
Friends Page
This page
should include information about your closest friends. You should also include
a picture for each one. You are required to make an animated gif for one of
your friend’s picture! Be creative!!!
*** A Dream
Weaver Photo Album is required for one of the pages above. You must have a
minimum of 20 images.
School or Hobbies page
A short
paragraph is required on this page. Please expand on your topic. This page
should link to a photo album. Use the same criteria as above.
Goals
Give a brief
description of your future goal(s). You need to create an image using Photoshop
(similar to surfer) and superimpose your face and or body into a scene to make
it look like you. As always, school appropriate!!
Projects
Create a
short flash movie about your future goal. This needs to a NEW flash movie. It
only needs to be 75 frames with sound, motion and shape tween and a motion guide. You will also need to link to any previous projects you
want published on this website. Some examples might be your DVD cover, flash
movies, valentine project, and animated gifs.
