Windsong Intermediate opened in the fall of 1999. It is located in the South Zone at 2100 W. Parkwood. The facility is approximately 85,000 square feet and houses approximately 490 fourth and fifth grade students. There are 21 classroom teachers and numerous support staff that provide excellent learning opportunities for all students. Windsong also has an active P.T.O. and many parent volunteers who help the staff throughout the year. Windsong is a TEA exemplary campus and has been recognized twice by the National Center for Educational Achievement as a High Performing School in Texas . Windsong offers differentiated instruction in Language Arts and Mathematics and provides excellent programs in inclusion and gifted and talented. Intervention programs are also in place to provide support for all our students. Students are able to participate in various academic activities such as Spelling Bee, Geography Bee, Continental Math League, Science Olympiad, and Science Fair. In addition, choir, sports and various clubs are offered before and after school to all students. Windsong students have an active Student Council and participate in various service projects throughout the year. In 2010 Windsong received the "Best of Friendswood" award by the U.S. Commerce Associate for customer service. Our students have also excelled in Robotics and Odyssey of the Mind competitions. The Windsong staff is dedicated to the success of all students. School hours are 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
