After growing up in Corpus Christi, Texas,
I came to Houston in 1969 as a freshman at the University of
Houston. I received my Bachelor of Business Administration and
worked as an accountant before becoming an educator.
My husband, Saul, and I moved to Friendswood
in 1978 with our daughter Andrea because of the excellent school
district and the small town atmosphere.

In 1984, after completing a Master of Science
in Elementary Education, I joined the faculty at Westwood Elementary
in Friendswood. There, I taught fourth grade for nine years and
fifth grade for three years. In addition to my teaching duties,
I served as a grade-level team leader and a member of numerous
committees. I also participated in the development of the fourth
grade scope and sequence and a curriculum guide in mathematics.
I have presented in-services in writing, mathematics, language
arts, and TAAS strategies both at the campus and district levels.
In 1996, I completed a second Master of Science
in Educational Administration and became the Assistant Principal
at Bales Intermediate, where I received invaluable administrative
experience. In 1998, I was named principal of Windsong Intermediate.
I am strongly committed to Friendswood ISD
and the community of Friendswood. As Windsong's principal, I
regard my responsibility to quality education for our students
as a privilege and an opportunity.
