Students new to Westwood this semester gathered with administrators in the library this Friday afternoon for a big Friendswood welcome and a few indoor activities. Using a red rubber ball, Mr. Whitlock led an interactive getting-to-know-you game, during which students had a chance to share fun facts like where they were from, which school they attended, what they like about Westwood, and what they're good at. Mrs. Gruener then read You Are All My Favorites by Sam McBratney and let them know that they, too, are now all her favorites. She told our newest colts that they could always count on their Westwood family to celebrate with them during successes and help them out during tough times. Finally, Mrs. Hobratschk tested their verbal dexterity by challenging them to some tricky tongue twisters. These new friends are now officially L.I.N.Ked (Let's Include New Kids) together.
