Pillar Patrol Still In Effect Throughout the Year
As the third graders count down their days left at Westwood and prepare to go to Bales, they're busily wrapping up their extracurricular activities before and after school. Students in the Fun Run club crossed the finish line this past Monday, our Treble Makers Choir is about to perform their Spring Concert where Pied Pipers Recorder Club will play their final note, and Knit Club Members will bind off their last patch the first Thursday in May.

The one place where our role models are still on duty is with the Pillar Patrol. Those students interested in this leadership opportunity applied early in the year to be on Patrol. And what a job they've done. Their early-morning tasks include greeting at the door, helping in the gym, opening car doors in the front, and working in the cafeteria to assist with breakfast.

Now that we've gotten used to seeing their smiling faces and sharp blue vests, it's hard to imagine a day without them. Special thanks goes to Phoebie Rogers, our third-grade team leader, for organizing the schedule for this year's Patrol and to all of the parents who got our little leaders to school early to serve in this capacity. Finally we thank all of our Patrol volunteers for their time and dedication to this important role at Westwood. Second graders - you'll be third graders before you know it. Are you ready for the PIllar Patrol?
