Wednesday
Warbles
The Westwood family gathers every Wednesday
morning in the gym for a special community meeting to encourage
camaraderie within the school body. Fondly known as Wednesday
Warbles, this gathering gives us a chance to pledge the flags
together, say the Westwood Pledge to one another, and take our
moment of reflective silence as a group.

We recognize birthdays, make morning announcements,
and select a character card or two from the box to read aloud
and honor our role models who are making character choices. Our
music teacher, Mrs. Rachita, then leads us in a character or
special-occasion song. Our administration uses this opportunity
to celebrate weekly attendance. When five or more classes have
met our perfect-attendance (with no more than one tardy) goal,
they stand up to be recognized because they've earned the Chicken
Dance, performed by Mrs. Hobratschk and Mr. Whitlock. What fun
it is to watch that attenDANCE celebration!
Donned in our CHARACTER COUNTS! at Westwood
t-shirts, students and staff add a touch of blue and white to
Wedneday Warbles, which serves to enhance our mid-week unity.
We close our morning gathering with a spirited-version of the
Westwod Elementary School Song, setting the tone for a wonderful
Wednesday at Westwood.
