| Third graders are
taking their field trips back in time this week as they visit
historic Friendswood at the Brown Museum and the Perry House.
As a culmination to their Friendswood unit, our character cam
caught Ms. Defibaugh and Mrs. Ellisor traveling with their students
on Wednesday to find out first hand what it was like to be a
pioneer and settle in Friendswood. They pumped well water, checked
on their vegetable garden, visited a blacksmith, and toured a
historic kitchen. They even played some games and experienced
some pasttimes of old; see how Mrs. Ellisor is trying to make
that blade of grass whistle! After their journey to the past,
they headed back into the future, where they enjoyed lunch together
before playing at Stevenson Park on the new wheel-chair accessible
playground which their donated quarters helped to purchase. |
