Melodic tunes from
Westwood's Pied Pipers were heard recently on stage as they geared
up for their guest performance spot Monday night at the Treble
Makers Spring Concert. Third-grade students who received their
black belt in Recorder Karate were invited to join the Pied Pipers
Recorder Club. Early every Tuesday for the past six weeks, these
little musicians have been meeting behind closed curtains on
the stage and entertaining our students at breakfast. Rehearsing,
that is.
Our character cam caught
them playing a selection entitled, "For Minors Only,"
the perfect song for these future music majors! If you'd like
to hear them perform, come to the Friendswood United Methodist
Church on Monday, May 5th for the 6:00 Choir Concert during which
the Pied Pipers will be featured. A note of thanks to their
director, Laura Rachita, for going above and beyond to give these
recorder masters this additional opportunity to showcase their
skills on stage.
