Get Heart Smart!
That's the message to our little learners as their study on
the heart in physical education classes culminates in their annual
Jump Rope For Heart fundraiser. Students in grades one through
three were encouraged to enter the event by asking friends and
family to donate money to sponsor their jumping.
With or without sponsors,
our jumpers are spending two p.e. periods rotating through stations
and jumping like kangaroos. This win-win program benefits the
American Heart Association again this year and, if last year's
total is a predictor of this year's pledges, they ought to be
pleasantly surprised at how much research they're able to do
with our funds. First-grade teacher Margaret Limmer also joined
in the fun this year and we're told she jumped 500 times. Go
Mrs. Limmer! It's not too late to sponsor one of our students;
the deadline for donating is February 29th.
