| Officer James Dement
visited first graders at Westwood recently to talk with them
about their safety rules. The character cam caught him talking
with Mrs. Limmer's class on Tuesday. He solicited volunteers
to help him show students how much distance to keep between them
and strangers, and to role play with him through a few different
possible scenarios to arm them with wisdom about stranger danger
and equip them with strategies should the need ever arise. See
how frighteningly close he gets to this little girl by offering
her "a note to take to her mom." He also tried other
lures like offering them money and asking them to pet his puppy,
prompting the students each time to continue to refuse the bait
and keep their distance. We thank the Friendswood Police Department
for their partnership in heightening our students' awareness
and keeping them safe. |
